SWEET AS PIE

Its pie time and we have you covered for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Join us in the kitchen as we learn all of the basics for making delicious country-style pies including techniques on tender pie crust, rolling & assembly, and proper baking……. all while keeping it fun, simple, and stress-free.  Class includes individual hands-on preparation of delicious Caramel Apple Pie using local farm apples with participants taking home their very own unbaked 9” deep-dish pie to pop in the freezer and bake fresh for the holiday table. Additional pie recipes will be included in the recipe book, and class will enjoy coffee & pie at the end of the workshop.    Appleton Farms, Ipswich, Saturday November 11th.  Choose from morning session 10-12:00 pm, or afternoon session 2:30-4:30 pm.  $60 Trustees Members/$75 Non-Members       Whittier Tech, Haverhill, Monday November 13th, 6-9 pm             

 

GIVING THANKS……HOLIDAY HARVEST TABLE

This special culinary workshop celebrates the bounty of the farm harvest with inspirational dishes perfect for your Thanksgiving table and beyond!  We’ll celebrate seasonal crops as we prepare delicious rustic dishes…..many of which can be made ahead to keep it stress-fresh for the big day.  Our menu may include recipes such as Roasted Sugar Pumpkin Soup, Country Sausage Stuffing with Apples & Herbs, Spaghetti Squash Gratin, Maple & Bacon Roasted Brussels, and scrumptious Cranberry-Pear Fruit Strudels.  Class includes hands-on cooking with chef instruction, printed recipes, and a wonderful harvest meal at the end of the evening.  Byob beer & wine allowed.   Appleton Farms, Ipswich  Friday, November 17th, 6-9 pm  $72 Trustees Members/$90 Non-Members

 

GINGERBREAD FUN FOR GROWN UPS!

Tap into your childhood and celebrate the season with this very special Gingerbread House workshop for adults. We’ll cover all things gingerbread from making and baking the gingerbread pieces, to proper assembly of houses that won’t crumble. From there, it’s all about creativity and fun decorating your very own gingerbread house to display & eat throughout the holidays. Class includes hands-on assembly and decorating, instruction, printed recipes, and take-home gingerbread house.      Appleton Farms, Ipswich, Sunday December 3rd, 3-6 pm  $72 Trustees Members/$90 Non-Members       Whittier Tech, Haverhill, Monday December 11th, 6-9 pm $65

FESTIVE FEASTING: RECIPES FOR THE HOLIDAYS

This culinary workshop celebrates the festive spirit of the season with inspirational dishes perfect for sharing with friends and family throughout the holidays and beyond!  We’ll use farm foods and local seasonal crops to prepare a festive menu including two each of appetizers, sides, and sweet treats using simple, delicious recipes to keep your entertaining stress free.  Our menu may include dishes such as Mushroom & Goat Cheese Skillet, Basil-Roasted Shrimp with Romesco Sauce, Field Onion Gratin, Cranberry & Wild Rice Harvest Pilaf, Chocolate-Orange Shortbread, and Brandy Eggnog Truffles made with farm cream.   Class includes hands-on cooking with chef instruction, printed recipes, and fun holiday grazing at the end of the evening.  Byob beer & wine allowed.   Appleton Farms, Ipswich  Wednesday, December 6th, 6-9 pm   $72 Trustees Members/$90 Non-Members    To register for this workshop contact Caroline Rouillard at crouillard@thetrustees.org – ph. 978-356-5728 x4118
